Academy Award nominated director Martin Scorsese is an icon in the cinema world, having directed over 60 films, and produced over 80. Born and raised in the Manhattan’s Little Italy, Scorsese rose to popularity after starting his career with award-winning short films including The Big Shave (1967), and directed his first feature that same year, Who’s That Knocking at My Door. “Basically, you make another movie, and another, and hopefully you feel good about every picture you make. And you say, ‘My name is on that. I did that. It’s okay.’ But don’t get me wrong, I still get excited by it all. That, I hope, will never disappear.” -Martin Scorsese
