ANGELIKA’S NOTE

As one of history’s greatest fashion designers entered a decade of freedom, neither came out of it in one piece. "A lush, stylish and evocative journey," raves Screen Daily, "Bertrand Bonello's magnificently mounted biopic succeeds as a warts and all story of the legendary fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent." A Cannes Film Festival Official Selection, Bonello (ON WAR, NOCTURAMA) delivers a kaleidoscopic torrent of lavish excess with SAINT LAURENT, featuring an acclaimed lead performance from Gaspard Ulliel (A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT; PARIS, JE T'AIME).

SYNOPSIS

Focusing on the dark, hedonistic, wildly creative decade from (from 1967 to ’77) in Yves Saint Laurent’s life and career. Over the course of the film, the couturier (played by Gaspard Ulliel) becomes a myth, a brand, and an avatar of his era, moving through a string of hothouse ateliers and nightclubs whose centers of gravity all seem to realign around him.
