ANGELIKA’S NOTE

Pedro Almodóvar's (PAIN & GLORY, LABYRINTH OF PASSION) early work earned awards at the Berlin, Bogota and Faro Island Film Festivals with its kinky fun and bright, provocative storyline. Now rated a note-perfect 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the film follows a gay filmmaker who becomes involved with an obsessive fan, while still pining for his absent true love. Meanwhile, he shares a close but complex relationship with his transgender sister, an actress. LAW OF DESIRE stars Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas and Carmen Maura (WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, VOLVER).

SYNOPSIS

When porn director Pablo (Eusebio Poncela) reluctantly breaks up with his boyfriend, Juan (Miguel Molina), he encourages him to stay in touch. Antonio intercepts their correspondence and flies into a towering rage, terrifying Pablo, but also inspiring him creatively as he works on a play about his transgender sister (Carmen Maura).
