ANGELIKA’S NOTE

A stunningly emotional love story, BARAN, directed by Majid Majidi (CHILDREN OF HEAVEN, SUN CHILDREN, THE COLOR OF PARADISE) follows two workers on a construction site as Baran, played by Zahra Bahrami (KINGSLAYER, TWEEZERS) hides her identity as a girl to keep working, where she and Lateef, played by Hossein Abedini (THE LIZARD, TABOO, 3 DEGREES OF FEVER) fall in love. When all Afghani workers are forced to be fired from the site, Lateef struggles to find a way for them to remain together. The Los Angeles Times says the film "Brings an irresistible blend of warmth and humor and a consistent embracing humanity in the face of life's harshness."
