ANGELIKA’S NOTE

Stanley Kubrick’s (THE SHINING, 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY) disturbing rendition of Anthony Burgess’ novel A CLOCKWORK ORANGE brings into view disturbances we dared only read about, front and center. With a bone-chilling performance from Malcolm McDowell (HALLOWEEN (2007), TIME AFTER TIME) as “protagonist” Alex DeLarge – a young gang leader who thrives off of violence and chaos – this classic is sure to leave you unsettled, disturbed, and fully engrossed in Kubrick’s piece of art. "What our nightmares have accustomed us to see in dreams, Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange shows us in broad daylight. It is one of the most unsettling films in the whole of cinema" )London Evening Standard).

SYNOPSIS

Being the adventures of a young man…who loved a bit of the old ultra-violence…went to jail, was brainwashed…and came out cured…or was he? In a futuristic welfare state, Alex, a vicious young hoodlum, sleeps all day and spends his nights roaming the city with his droogs (friends), assaulting innocent people in the streets and in their homes. Finally captured by the police, Alex undergoes rehabilitation in the form of aversion therapy as brutal and horrifying as any of his offenses.
