ANGELIKA’S NOTE

At the 2021 Venice Film Festival, a five-minute standing ovation followed the premiere of this wildly entertaining film from Director Edgar Wright (BABY DRIVER, SCOTT PILGRIM VS.THE WORLD, SHAUN OF THE DEAD). The film is a gripping, but groovy, thriller that follows an aspiring fashion designer (Thomasin McKenzie; JOJO RABBIT, LEAVE NO TRACE) who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer (played by indie darling Anya Taylor-Joy; THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT, THE WITCH). The film also stars Matt Smith (DOCTOR WHO), Diana Rigg and Terence Stamp.

SYNOPSIS

Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer, Sandie. But the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something far darker.
